Haridwar, 3 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently visited the Char Dham Yatra registration centre at Rishikul Maidan, Haridwar, to review its operations. He interacted with pilgrims registering for the journey, who shared their satisfaction and even captured selfies with the Chief Minister.
Dhami ordered the increase of registration counters and improvement of facilities including drinking water, toilets, and cooling systems for the visitors. He emphasized the importance of sufficient security measures to protect the pilgrims and urged strict action against fraud.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the Char Dham Yatra, which commences from Haridwar, faces significant pilgrim influx, leading occasionally to the suspension of offline registrations. However, measures have been adopted to reopen and possibly increase offline registrations depending on the flow of devotees, he stated.
He reassured that ensuring the safety of the pilgrims remains a top priority, especially with the approach of the monsoon season. Dhami advised the devotees to adhere to their scheduled travel dates and to undertake the pilgrimage only after appropriate medical checks and weather evaluations. He stressed the pivotal role of the Yatra in the state’s economy and urged all stakeholders to contribute towards a smooth pilgrimage experience.
The meeting was attended by notable figures like MLA Madan Kaushik, former MLA Swami Yatishwaranand, District Panchayat President Kiran Chaudhary, SSP Pramod Dobhal, and several others associated with the tourism and security sectors.
